Milos is one of the Cyclades islands with a (small) domestic airport so you have options to consider.
Flights to Milos
If you are arriving in Greece to Athens airport, you might consider an onward flight to Milos. It might look expensive at first compared with the ferry option, but when you factor in the additional costs, time and hassle of getting to the ferry port to board a Milos ferry, it starts to look like a good option. And even netter when you consider that you might be tired from a long international flight and very keen to get to your accommodation.
Flight time to Milos
The planes used for the flights are small and the flight only takes around 40 minutes. The main consideration is how well the flight schedule to Milos matches with your flight arrival at Athens – and with all these connections, the risk of delays!
Ferries to Milos
For the ferries to Milos, you can choose between the faster cats (Seajets) which take around 3.5 hours or the slower (more relaxed) ferries which can take up to 6 hours depending on their stops.
Mykonos and Santorini to Milos
There may be an option for you to fly into Santorini or Mykonos and this will add additional ferry options – the transfer from these airports to the ferry ports is much easier but again you will need to consider the connection times and whether you will need to wait around for ferries.
